Why Choose AI TigerSTOR?
There are many video management systems and various brands of servers or assembled servers available on the market. So, why do we recommend AI TigerSTOR?
Among the numerous video management systems (VMS) available, we have chosen Nx Witness IPVMS by the American company Networkoptix as our core management software. We have leveraged its scalability and extensibility to develop complementary software and hardware.
Nx Witness is a cross-platform solution that can seamlessly integrate with over 99% of the IP cameras available in the market. This flexibility allows us to explore our creativity in hardware choices, as the software can run on a wide range of hardware platforms, including Intel, AMD, NVIDIA, Apple Silicon, RockChip, and more.
The system boasts a robust server/client architecture with a unique HIVE structure, replacing the traditional centralized server model. This means that server resources are distributed horizontally, reducing individual hardware load and eliminating the need for expensive central servers. The HIVE architecture, combined with a cloud-based approach, simplifies user management, requiring only a username and password, rather than memorizing IP addresses. Whether you manage a few cameras or thousands in a large-scale monitoring setup, all you need is your login credentials.
This system is highly scalable and complex under the hood, involving advanced mathematics, complex relational databases, and substantial image storage. However, for users, it's as simple as installing one software with a unified interface and a single set of credentials to accomplish everything a video management system can do.
It's worth noting that Nx Witness consistently ranks at the top of annual surveys conducted by global media outlets over the past few years.
Some might consider this management software to be expensive, but it actually saves costs in other areas. There are no additional charges for hardware configuration, server quantity, or client quantity. The only cost is the licensing fee for the number of cameras you need to record (except for specific features like video walls).
We have been promoting and using this software for over a decade, striving to develop hardware that perfectly complements its features. After experimenting with various server and assembled server brands, we embarked on the development of AI TigerSTOR. It took over a year of development, including rigorous stress testing, compatibility checks, driver development, and software adaptation, but we finally launched this AI TigerSTOR server.
In the surveillance industry, traditional DVRs have been widely used due to their simplicity, while IP systems were considered new and unfamiliar. In recent years, a trend toward hybrid systems has emerged. However, network servers were traditionally associated with data centers, requiring installation in temperature-controlled rooms, which isn't always ideal. AI TigerSTOR, on the other hand, offers the dimensions of a typical DVR and is designed to be user-friendly in various environments. We have also addressed internal heat dissipation and fan noise to strike the right balance.
All surveillance systems require real-time analytics capabilities. Most general-purpose servers lack the flexibility to add such features, requiring the purchase of additional compatible devices. AI TigerSTOR solves this by incorporating DI/DO hardware modules and dedicated drivers and software. This allows you to trigger alarm devices directly through Nx Witness.
While Nx Witness already offers robust storage and backup capabilities, the conventional RAID architecture used in data centers does not fully utilize these features in the domestic context. RAID is widely used in the IT industry but isn't well-suited for emerging video storage demands. AI TigerSTOR features eight drive bays, offering distributed storage. This system optimizes disk longevity by automatically distributing write operations based on the load of each drive, avoiding the performance degradation common in traditional RAID setups.
AI TigerSTOR provides four HDMI outputs, allowing it to function as both a recording and storage server as well as a multi-screen client management device. It also includes specialized ports like RS232 and RS485, making it suitable for integration with various sensors and control devices, such as temperature and humidity sensors, air quality monitors, and soil detectors.
We use Intel's designated embedded processors, offering a reliable and well-supported solution. Additionally, the system comes with Intel's iris Xe iGPU, which, in collaboration with renowned AI company Beseye, utilizes AI intrusion detection and fence-climbing detection algorithms based on the OPENVINO technology. This results in a lightweight AI model.
We continue to integrate other AI functions based on OPENVINO technology and plan to release servers compatible with various AI algorithm environments.
